Institutional Effectiveness
CSUEB is committed to ongoing development and improvement of our educational community. A review of our previous Values and Vision and Seven Strategic Mandates led to an expanded Mission, eight new Shared Strategic Commitments, and adoption of Institutional Learning Outcomes.
The educational needs of our students are of prime importance at CSUEB. Educational Effectiveness can be demonstrated through academic and co-curricular program review, and a cultural of inquiry and evidence is supported throughout our institution. Resources are available to faculty, staff and students at the Educational Effectiveness Website, at the Office of Faculty Development, the Office of Testing and Assessment, and throughout the University.
Accreditation is an important accountability indicator, and CSUEB is proud to hold accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Accrediting Commission for Senior College and Universities. We are currently planning for an intensive period of self-study and assessment, with a culminating accreditation team visit in Spring 2015. Please visit our WASC Accreditation site for updates and information on our reaffirmation efforts.
In addition to regional accreditation, individual programs at CSUEB are accredited by discipline specific accrediting agencies. A list of these programs can be viewed on the Program Specific Accreditation Website.
The Student Success and Assessment Committee (SSAC) recently reviewed and expanded its charge and will play an active role in the upcoming accreditation study. Information on committee activities are reported at the SSAC Website.
The university has recently undertaken a university-wide, rigorous review of academic and administrative programs. Throughout this process of careful reflection and deliberation, progress and materials will be shared online at the Planning for Distinction Website.
