Strategic Planning History, 2004-2011

Recent strategic planning at Cal State East Bay began with the adoption of Mission, Vision, and Values statements [first link] during the 2004-05 academic year and a highly participative process to develop a new list of University Goals and Objectives adopted in May 2006.

In October 2006, then new President Mohammad H. Qayoumi initiated a series of 21 Town Hall meetings across the entire University, which shaped the development of seven mandates [second link] in the University's Framework for the Future (pdf).

In 2008, the University approved its new Academic Plan (pdf) and identified initial priorities for implementation. More specific academic, physical, and divisional plans were developed to sustain support for the University's mission and values into the future.

In 2008 and 2010 the University discussed priorities and performance measures, which were summarized in two documents.

These discussions helped inform budget and enrollment planning annually, with a particular focus on the 2010-11 year when state funding required significant budget reductions. [budget plan link]

At the conclusion of the Qayoumi Presidency in 2011, the University prepared a continuity plan and strategic planning report documenting five years of accomplishments.
