How to Apply to EOP
Fall Quarter 2012
EOP at CSU East Bay accepts First-Time Freshmen applications for Fall Quarter 2012 (only) from October 1, 2011 to November 30, 2011. Applications may be accepted through March 1, 2012 on a space available basis.
EOP accepts Upper Division Transfer student applications for Fall Quarter 2012 from October 1, 2011 to November 30, 2011.
Please note EOP at CSU East Bay only accepts new CSU applicants for the Fall term. The program accepts no new applications for Winter, Spring, and Summer Quarters.
Step 1. Apply for admission to Cal State East Bay
- Apply for admission online via the CSUMENTOR web site with $55.00 CSU application fee or submit a Request to Waive Application Fee Form.
- Mark "Yes" to EOP (Question) Step 11 on the CSU Application to apply for EOP services
- After you submit your online CSU Application, you will receive an online application agreement statement containing a link to the EOP Application Manager. This link will access the online EOP Applicant Information Form and two EOP Recommendation Forms
Step 2. Submit Three (3) EOP Forms to the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
You are encouraged to read the EOP information on the CSU Mentor website and then proceed to the EOP Application Manager for the three EOP forms.
- To access the EOP Application Manager, go to the CSU Mentor main page and select the Apply Online tab > EOP > EOP Application Manager.
Submit the online EOP Applicant Information Form and two EOP Recommendation Forms from your counselor or teacher(s). Have them complete their online recommendation letters by the deadline date of March 1, 2012. EOP applicants are required to answer all questions on the EOP Applicant Information Form and then submit both EOP Recommendation Forms. Only completed applications will be reviewed. All forms should be submitted online.
- Submit proof of income, if required
Step 3. Submit official transcripts to the Office of Admissions
- First-Time Freshmen Applicants: Submit official high school transcript (with 6th semester grades and 7th semester work in progress coursework), official college transcripts (if applicable), and SAT or ACT scores (if required) by March 1, 2012 (partial deadline). Submit your final official high school transcript by July 15, 2012 (final deadline).
- Upper Division Transfer Applicants: Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended and currently attending with Fall 2011 grades posted and Spring 2012 work in progress by March 1, 2012. Submit your final official transcripts from colleges that had Spring 2012 work in progress by July 15, 2012 (final deadline).
Step 4. Apply for Student Financial Aid process for 2012-2013 at CSU East Bay
- All EOP applicants must file the 2012-2013 FAFSA.
- Go to the FAFSA website and submit the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2012-2013 between January 1, 2012 and March 2, 2012 for priority consideration.
- List the CSUEB code 001138 on your FAFSA.
- Visit the CSUEB Financial Aid Office website for more information.
- Applying for CSUEB student Financial Aid is a separate process from the EOP admission process.
Step 5. Take the CSU EPT/ELM Placement Tests
- If you have not taken a college level English and/or Math class, you are required to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and/or the Entry Level Math (ELM) test at your local CSU campus
- We strongly recommend taking your EPT/ELM tests by March 2012, but no later than May 2012
