Cal State East Bay’s Division of Continuing Education offers online programs, professional development, certificates and degrees for East Bay professionals. More than 50 certificate programs are offered including:

  • Continuing Education for Teachers
  • Continuing Legal Education
  • Notary Public Training
  • Test Preparation

You may take courses for academic credit with no application required. Courses are offered at Hayward, Oakland and Concord.

Online Programs

Online courses offer quality instruction with the flexibility and convenience to help you balance work, family life, and commuting. A wide choice of online programs allows you to take dozens of courses and certificate programs that can be completed entirely online. Cal State East Bay also offers many hybrid courses featuring classroom instruction supplemented with multimedia technology.

Open University

The Open University program offers individual undergraduate and graduate classes, on a space-available basis only, without a formal admission process. Explore a new field of study, improve your skills or improve your GPA with a course from Open University.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) offers low-cost, exciting and challenging lectures, courses and field trips in the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities for students age 50 and over. Programs are offered in Alameda, Concord, Danville, Hayward, Oakland and Walnut Creek.

Summer Reading Development

Summer reading courses are offered for children and adults of all ages at more than 10 locations throughout the East Bay. Classes for high school and college students include study skills, comprehension and speed reading.

Business Services and Conference Center

Business services include customized corporate training, professional development and meeting facilities at the Oakland Professional Development and Conference Center. Located 15 minutes from the Oakland Airport and 20 minutes from San Francisco, the center is ideal for meetings of 12 to 120 people. Custom services include state-of-the-art equipment and on-site help for meetings, catering and technology support.
