The Bay Card

Credit Cards can not be used at the PHiL Stations (Library, Pioneer Heights, Concord) at this time. Our vendor is working on the problem. Credit Cards are still accepted on the Bay Bucks web site. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The Bay Card is CSU East Bay's campus ID card for employees and students. It identifies someone as a member of the CSU East Bay community and can be used for a variety of activities on campus.

In addition to being your primary form of identification on campus, it is also your campus library card. It can be used to check out equipment in various departments and shown for entry at campus events.

Bay Card Optional Features

Bay Bucks

Bay Bucks is money that can be accessed via The Bay Card for a variety of campus services like printing, copying, dining, vending and laundry. Money can be added to your Bay Bucks account via the Bay Bucks web site or at one of three PHiL (Payment Headquarters in Location) stations. PHiL stations can be found on the Hayward campus in the University Library and at Pioneer Heights. A PHiL station is also located on the Concord campus. The PHiL stations will only accept credit cards (MasterCard, Discover and American Express only) and cash. On the Bay Bucks website, only a credit card (MasterCard, Discover and American Express only) can be used. More details can be found in Bay Bucks.

Please note that the university does not accept Visa and therefore, you may not add money to your Bay Bucks account using a Visa credit card.

Wells Fargo ATM/PIN-Debit Access

When your Bay Card is linked to a Wells Fargo^® checking account you can use it for cash withdrawals and to view account balances at over 12,000 Wells Fargo^® and Wachovia ATMs for free, and at any ATM or merchant that accepts PIN-debit transactions. All ATM and/or PIN-debit transactions using your Bay Card are deducted from your primary linked Wells Fargo^® checking account. More details can be found in Banking with The Bay Card.
