Emergency Accommodations

Emergency accommodations are provided by Accessibility Services on a case-by-case basis and for a period up to 14 business days, after which time the accommodations will undergo re-evaluation and a meeting with an Accessibility Counselor will be necessary.  The nature of the emergency-related disability should be observable in nature (for example, a broken ankle) in order to receive accommodations.  Examples of emergency accommodations might include the following:

  • Classroom support such as readers and/or scribes
  • Access to a classmate’s notes and/or audio recordings of lectures
  • Accessible furniture
  • Accessible testing
  • Access maps of campus
  • Temporary disability placard for on campus
  • Referrals to appropriate resources or agencies
