Emergency Accommodations
Emergency accommodations are provided by Accessibility Services on a case-by-case basis and for a period up to 14 business days, after which time the accommodations will undergo re-evaluation and a meeting with an Accessibility Counselor will be necessary. The nature of the emergency-related disability should be observable in nature (for example, a broken ankle) in order to receive accommodations. Examples of emergency accommodations might include the following:
- Classroom support such as readers and/or scribes
- Access to a classmate’s notes and/or audio recordings of lectures
- Accessible furniture
- Accessible testing
- Access maps of campus
- Temporary disability placard for on campus
- Referrals to appropriate resources or agencies
