Veteran Students

Thank you, veterans.

We at Accessibility Services are grateful for your service to our country. We realize that many of you pay a high price for your military service and often experience a difficult adjustment back to civilian life. Indeed, many of our veteran students attend classes while simultaneously undergoing treatment for injuries (physical and emotional) related to their military service. Providing disability support when you need it is the least we can do.

As a veteran student with a disability, you are eligible for the same services as any other Accessibility Services student and we encourage you to make use of our accommodation and support services as you need them. In addition, you may want to explore some of the veteran-specific resources on campus.

The Veteran Office at CSUEB

The Veterans Office provides services to students applying for veteran benefits (VA education assistance programs). If you plan to use an educational benefit at CSUEB, meet with the Veteran Affairs Coordinator to review the requirements of the program and ensure the appropriate paperwork is completed. The Veteran Affairs Coordinator can be reached at 510-885-3669 (or at va@csueastbay.edu).

Veterans Welcome Reception

Held each November, the Veterans Welcome Reception provides a venue for the CSU East Bay community to show our appreciation for students who are current or former members of the military. This is also a chance for veteran students to meet each other, learn about veteran benefits, gather information about student support programs, and listen to keynote speakers honoring veterans.

The Student Veterans Organization (SVO)

The SVO is an organization for veteran students run by veteran students. They organize social events, provide peer support, reach out to local veterans, promote awareness of veteran issues, and engage in community service. Contact them at studentveterans@csueastbay.edu
