Hayward Campus Solar Energy
The Hayward campus solar panels generate one megawatt on an annual basis. Our system consists of 5264 panels placed on four buildings: Art & Education, Meiklejohn Hall, Physical Education and Music.
Electricity generated by the photo voltaic cells is consumed by the University's buildings. In 2009 and 2010, the solar panels generated at least 6% of our total usage with an estimated cost savings of $120,000 per year.
