Highway To Work Program
CSUEB has partnered with East Bay Community Services (EBCS) to provide youth in the surrounding community with meaningful and valuable work experiences. This partnership provides youth in Highway-to-Work with the unique experience of working alongside the Facilities Development and Operations Department.
Through the Highway-to-Work Program at EBCS, youth ages fourteen to nineteen on probation, foster care, and CalWorks are given an opportunity to receive employment and educational opportunities year-round. Youth gain the following services and opportunities:
- 200 hour paid internship
- Support services for employment and education related expenses
- Workshops on communication, financial management, job readiness, etc.
- Educational stipends for GPA increase, perfect attendance, passing the California High School Exit Exam, credit recovery and honor roll
