Organizing U


This workshop occurs on the first and second days of Fall and Winter Terms, and its focus is on helping you transition in to the university, and get as organized as possible as you start your courses.  Attention is paid ot answering your specific questions, as well as demonstrating a brief but effective organization strategy that you can employ at the start of each term.

Improving Reading Skills


This workshop occurs in the first month of the Fall and Winter Terms, and focuses on proven reading strategies for college-level textbooks, and promoting retention of reading material in preparation for classroom exams.  This workshop is specifically designed for students with disabilities, and will include material on reading technologies such as Kurzweil 3000® and ReadPlease®.

Promoting U


This workshop occurs in Fall and Winter Terms, and focuses on self-advocacy, working with faculty to meet all your academic needs, and ensuring you use all your university resources in order to be successful throughout the term.

Getting It All Down On Paper


This workshop occurs in Fall and Winter Terms, and focuses on the Cornell Note-Taking Method and use of such technologies as the Pulse Pen (by LiveScribe) to capture in-class lectures, and create better study guides for future test-taking events.

This is a Test! Only a Test!


This workshop occurs near the end of Fall and Winter Terms, and focuses on preparation for both multiple-choice and essay-type exams.  This workshop is specifically geared towards students for whom test-taking is stressful, and for whom effort and preparation do not translate well on an exam when it is timed.
