Policies and Statements

Equal Opportunity Policies and Procedures

CSUEB is committed to maintaining an employment and learning milieu free from discrimination and harassment. Accordingly, we have developed and implemented the following policies and procedures to assure equal opportunity.

In addition, CSUEB is always updating and developing new policies and procedures as necessary.

Affirmative Action Policies and Programs

CSUEB's Affirmative Action Program for women and minorities is in compliance with Executive Order 11246 and California's Proposition 209. Accordingly, the focus of the program is on best practices in recruitment, e.g., recruiting from sources to obtain the most diverse applicant pool; selecting a search committee that is diverse in gender and ethnicity to avoid gender bias in selection criteria and/or interview questions; developing selection criteria that is not race or sex-biased; and developing interviewing questions that are not race or sex-biased.

Employees or applicants for employment who have a qualifying disability or who are a Vietnam-era Veteran or Disabled Veteran can elect to be included under CSUEB's respective Affirmative Action Program. Interested parties should contact the Director of Equity and Diversity.
