Q: How do I apply?

A: If you are a current CSU, East Bay student you will need to download the application from the Liberal Studies Department website here (add url to application). . The application will hold specific dates for the year.

You must apply to the University at CSU Mentor (add url). Submit transcripts of all college coursework to Dennis Chester (East Bay applicants) or Ellen Woodward (Concord applicants) for departmental review. (We do not need official transcripts to perform this initial eligibility assessment however, when you apply to the University, you must submit official transcripts.)

Q: What other documentation is needed to apply?

A: Write a brief essay of no more than two pages back explaining why you want to enter the program. Two letters of recommendation (from professionals who can verify your appropriateness for the program. i.e. instructor, counselor or employer). Complete the Bachelors Plus Early Pathway application form, including One letter from a teacher or principal verifying experience in a K-8 classroom (minimum 45 hours) or TED 3001 or equivalent field experience course.

Q: What are the entry requirements?

A: Students should be prepared to start upper division work within their major and have a 2.9 over all GPA prior to starting the program. All program transfer requirements completed or to be completed by Summer. Must sign up to take the CBEST during the Spring or Summer.
