Bachelors's Plus Program - Multiple Subject Program

The Liberal Studies Program at CSU, East Bay offers the Bachelors Plus Early Pathway: Multiple Subject Program for student interested in an accelerated route towards the Bachelors Degree and the Multiple Subject teaching credential.

During a students junior and senior years, students in the program take courses that allow them to complete requirements for the BA in Liberal Studies and the Multiple Subject teaching credential simultaneously. This accelerated study requires students to enroll in a considerable number of units each quarter, and students should expect to take at least 5 classes per quarter.

This program is also a cohort program students are admitted once yearly in the Fall quarter and all courses are scheduled and arranged in advance so the entire admitted cohort takes all of their classes together. Students admitted to the Bachelors Plus Multiple Subject Program work closely with advisors in the Liberal Studies office and a Team Leader from CSUEB’s Teacher Education Department.

The program is an opportunity for those students who have the time and energy to devote to a rigorous academic program. Successful Bachelors Plus Multiple Subject Program students can begin teaching 1 year sooner than student taking traditional routes to the Multiple Subject teaching credential.

You should be accustomed to taking a full academic load since your first quarter will require 18 quarter units (equivalent to 12 semester units). Working during the program is not advised, especially during the second year while you are student teaching.

Applications will be accepted until a cohort of 30 qualified students has been selected. However, we would like to have the final decisions completed by early Summer.
