Freshman Programs

Pre-Nursing

The Pre-Nursing program for freshman is geared toward getting the students prepared for the Nursing program. During the course of the Pre-Nursing program students will complete all of the prerequisites needed to apply for the Nursing program as well as required general education classes.

The Pre-Nursing program is a cohort program, where students are placed in cohorts of students who will be taking all of their classes together. The cohort system promotes close friendships and learning through study groups.

Health Science

The Health Science program for freshman is very similar to the Pre-Nursing program. In all Health Science areas you will need to complete the same prerequisites and general education classes as the Pre-Nursing students. After the Pre-Nursing and Health Science program students are able to choose their area of interest within Health Science and take classes more closely related to their field of choice.

Psychology Interest

Psychology is a new freshman program that will be featured on the Concord Campus. The program will be preparing students to go into the Psychology major. Students will complete the same classes as the Pre-Nursing and Health Science program. There is one difference between the programs. The Psychology program has a few classes that students may need to take in Hayward or online.
