Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Transition Year (Fall 2010-Spring 2011) is over. All students must register (and pay) starting Fall 2011.
- I already tried and failed the comps, don't want to enroll in a course. Can I switch to a thesis? No, decision already made to take the comprehensives.
- Can I have an appointment to discuss? No! There's no need.
- Can I use 6901 to satisfy the Systems or Theory requirement? No.
- I have less than 30 units at the moment, but I'll be over 30 at exam time. Can I enroll? No.
- Can I use an English course (or something else not in M.S.) to satisfy 30 units requirement? No.
- Can I take Automata, Analysis, OS, Complexity concurrently? No.
- Does WST really need to be completed first? Yes.
- I earned a 'D' in O.S. or Automata or something else? Can I sign up? According to our catalog, grades below C- cannot be used to satisfy any prerequisite. No. Retake the prereq first.
- Do I have to do anything else other than the exams to take the course. No, just sign up, take the exams on scheduled dates, pass.
- What if I am unavailable/out of the country during one of the exam dates? Change your plans or take the exam in another quarter.
