Student Opportunities

Below you will find student opportunities. These opportunities will include events and summer programs. We will be adding scholarship resources soon as well.

Experience Berkeley:

This year's application for Experience Berkeley is available

http://www.stileshall.org/experience-berkeley/eb-highschool/

It provides Black, Latino & Native American rising juniors (class of
2015) with a 3.5 or higher GPA with mentors, tools, and resources to complete a competitive UC college application and the opportunity to get a close, personal look at UC Berkeley.

Students are introduced to college life, given admissions feedback on personal statements, financial aid information, and mentoring throughout the application process during the summer and school year.

We double the normal admissions rate

Many current UC Berkeley students said this was a defining experience in their college application and ultimate selection process.

Applications are due March 27. Students will be notified by May 30.
Please disseminate to students who are qualified. Thanks so much.

The Experience Berkeley program is committed to promoting the University of California's goal of having a student body that is representative of the State of California via college application assistance.
COSMOS:
The California State Summer School for Mathematics & Science (COSMOS) is now accepting applications for Summer 2014.
COSMOS is a four-week residential program for talented and motivated students who are completing grades 8-12. Students who love math and science have a chance to spend four weeks at UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz or UC San Diego this summer. They will learn about astronomy, biomedical sciences, computer games, engineering, robotics and more.
Students will work side-by-side with outstanding UC researchers and faculty, exploring advanced topics that extend beyond the typical high school curriculum. COSMOS courses are hands-on and lab-intensive, emphasizing current research underway at the University of California campuses.
Virtual Information Sessions:
Interested students can participate in upcoming informational events. Topics include COSMOS eligibility, tips for a successful application, a tour of the application system, and financial assistance:
  • January 16 3–4pm (conducted by UCI)
  • January 23 6:30–8pm (conducted by UCSC)
