Areas of interest and expertise: Human Rights, Gender and Society; Violence and Conflict and Conflict Resolution; Social Control; Globalization and World Development.

Recent projects:

1. Affiliation with The Alliance for Humane Biotechnology in the US to help explore the human rights implication of new genetic technologies.
2. New Sociology course on Mediation and Conflict Resolution connecting students to mediation centers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
3. Conference participation in the Tarrytown (NY) meetings on genetics and society 2010 to 2012.
