Using Multiple Accounts in Outlook
Adding a Non-Person Gmail Account in Outlook
You can add non-person email accounts, such as your department email account, to your Outlook profile so that you can easily toggle from one account to another within Outlook.
- Go to Tools > Account Settings
- Click 'New'
- Select the “Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP”
- Click Next
- Select the checkbox for “Manually configure server settings”
- Click Next
- Select “Internet E-mail”
- Click Next
Internet E-mail Settings
User Information
- Your Name: Type in the name that you want this mailbox to be called.
- Email Address: Type in the full email address [utptrain@csueastbay.edu]
Server Information
- Account Type: Select IMAP
- Incoming mail server: Type in imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing server (SMTP): Type in smtp.gmail.com
Login Information
- User Name: Type in the full email address [utptrain@csueastbay.edu]
- Password: Type in the email account password. (The password of this email account, not your personal NetID password.)
- Next Click More Settings
- Select the "General" tab.
- Name your account as you wish to see it displayed in Outlook.
- Select the “Outgoing Server” tab
- Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- Select the Advanced tab, and enter the following information
- Incoming Server: 993
- Incoming Server encrypted connection: SSL
- Outgoing Server: 587
- Outgoing Server encrypted connection: TLS encryption
- Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings window.
- At the Add New E-mail Account window, Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Wait for a few minutes as your email loads.
