Data Warehouse Daily Refresh & Weekly Server Maintenance Window

Weekly database maintenance/backups are performed on the Cognos production database server (ADHAYDBP00) on Sundays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. During this time, the Cognos reporting interface will be unavailable. The data in the Cognos Data Warehouse and the Legacy Data Warehouse is refreshed between 9:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. on a daily basis. Data in the iStrategy SA Data warehouse and Finance Reporting Services Databases are refreshed between 2:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on a daily basis. Data Center Maintenance

There will be Data Center Maintenance in March on the PDU(power distribution unit) in WA310 to create circuit breaker space to support the new network equipment infrastructure for the move to the new SA data center. The maintenance will take place on a Saturday morning between 12am-6am so as to cause the least impact to the campus. Some servers will loose power. We are in the process with our Electricians to determine which servers are going to be moved and will provide that info in the RFC that will be submitted.

Data Warehouse Daily Refresh & Weekly Server Maintenance Window

When: Aug 8, 9:00am to 3:00pm

Weekly database maintenance/backups are performed on the Cognos production database server (ADHAYDBP00) on Sundays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. During this time, the Cognos reporting interface will be unavailable. The data in the Cognos Data Warehouse and the Legacy Data Warehouse is refreshed between 9:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. on a daily basis. Data in the IStrategy SA Data warehouse and Finance Reporting Services Databases are refreshed between 2:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on a daily basis. Backups are run daily at 8:00 a.m. during which time the database remains available. During the daily refresh, the reports may not return accurate results.

Data Center Maintenance Window

When: Aug 7, 12:00am to 7:00am

Blackboard: maintenance will be performed on the Blackboard system during the CSUEB Data Center maintenance window on Saturday, 8/7 between 12 AM and 7 AM. Identity Management Server: standard operating system patch updates will be installed during the CSUEB Data Center maintenance window on Saturday, August 7 between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. for servers fire, ims, haywire2, pcs (directory servers) and hayreg (NetID self-service); there will be brief service outages as the systems are rebooted. Network Operation Center: upgrade the NAM blade in the WA CORE, this is related to VNOC requirements between 12 AM and 3 AM. This is not anticipated to be disruptive.

Weekly Maintenance Window

When: Aug 3, 5:00pm to Aug 4, 12:00am

Desktop Security Patches: desktop computers will be patched with the latest security updates every Tuesday. If you see a prompt to reboot your computer please do so at your earliest convenience. If you do not reboot your computer, your computer will be rebooted automatically between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Specialized Administrative Applications Server: ARMS, Titanium, BBTS, Pharos Printing, TutorTrac, C2K, Medicat, DCIE Crystal Reports, and PEM Reports. Lab applications, print, file sharing and licensing on COS servers Galileo, Nobel, Tesla, Lylell from 6 PM until 12 AM. PeopleSoft & MyCSUEB: CSUEB has a regularly scheduled PeopleSoft maintenance window every Tuesday evening between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Should maintenance of system changes need to be conducted during one of these windows, advance notification will be provided.

Identity Management Patch

When: Jul 29, 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Standard operating system patch updates will be installed on Thursday, July 29 between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. for server tsw2 (file transfer server); there should not be any service outage.

PeopleSoft & MyCSUEB Maintenance Window

When: Jul 27, 7:00pm to 10:00pm

CSUEB has a regularly scheduled PeopleSoft maintenance window every Tuesday evening between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Should maintenance of system changes need to be conducted during one of these windows, advance notification will be provided.
