Unprotected Computer

Request to patch a computers with latest security patches and updates.

Most campus computing equipment is patched and updated through automatic or manually scheduled processes. In the event an end-user observes that a computing device is not patched (pop-up notice, automated reminders, etc.) they should request that this device is examined to insure that it is patched and updated to currently supported levels.

Note that, occasionally, the campus may not support the most current patch or update for a given system or application. This can occur if the campus determines that an extended testing period is needed for a patch or update, or, if the campus has determined that there is a defect in a current patch or update and is waiting for a vendor to resolve the defect.
