Tracy names parks director

TRACY - Rod Buchanan, interim director of Parks and Community Services for the past year, has been named director by City Manager Leon Churchill Jr.
Buchanan directs a department of 40 that oversees the city's recreation programs, special events, Tracy Municipal Airport, the Tracer bus system and city facilities.
Buchanan, who has worked in the department for the past seven years, was chosen from a pool of 20 applicants. He holds a master's degree in public administration from California State University, East Bay.
His salary will be $135,809 per year. His first day as Parks and Community Services director was Monday.
