CSUEB Records Dual Meet Win over Mills

HAYWARD, Calif. - The Pioneer women's swim team opened the 2009-10 campaign on a positive note by posting an impressive dual meet victory over Mills College on October 24. Cal State East Bay captured nine events and both relays en route to the dual meet win.
Freshman ASHLEY MCBRIDE, from Irvington High School, won the 100 fly (1:04.28) and the 500 free (5:40.24). Freshman BETHANY HOOPMAN captured the 200 IM (2:21.99) and 100 back (1:04.00). VANESSA SMITH (1000 free-13:00.45), SAMI HERNANDEZ (200 free-2:06.70), OLINA WIBROE-BENSON (50 free-25:53), KELLY DELEON (100 free-59.63), and MELISSA GROTTKAU (100 breast -1:17.02) were all victorious. The Pioneers won the 200 medley relay (2:00.29) and 200 free relay (1:45.15).
