Students offer tax prep assistance

Student volunteers from the accounting department in the College of Business and Economics are available Saturdays in April for free income tax assistance. Filers must be California residents.

Breaking ground for CSUEB fuel cell

Cal State East Bay and PG&E broke ground in February for the University’s fuel cell project. The new power source will be located on the north end of the Hayward campus. CSUEB will soon become one of the first colleges in Northern California to host a fuel cell.

Virtual computer lab debuts

This new type of "lab" will allow students to use their own computers, or university machines, to access expensive, memory-intensive software like Mathematica or Adobe Illustrator through the virtual "cloud" instead of purchasing and installing their own copies. 

Certified wedding planning

The Oakland Tribune recently profiled the Department of Continuing Education’s certificate in wedding planning. It’s the only one of its kind offered at an accredited university, and professionals consider CSUEB’s program to be a benchmark for all other wedding consulting training programs.
