Free admission May 1 for table tennis spectators

This just in: In light of lots of interest from the Cal State East Bay community and the public, admission for spectators will be free to the Saturday, May 1 CSUEB Table Tennis Tournament, the Kinesiology Department announced late Friday.

"Pass on this good news and enjoy the event," said Event Director Ling Ling Pan.

About 60 players, primarily at the beginner to intermediate skill level, are expected to participate.

"The players' ages are from 8 to 70 years old," Pan said. "It will be a very interesting and exciting event."

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the university gym on the Hayward Campus, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. in Hayward.

The tournament is open to professional, intermediate and beginning players. Tournament winners will receive awards such as cash prizes and gift certificates.
