As part of “National Lab Day” on May 12th, Assistant Professor of Teacher Education Michele Korb will be hosting an online “Bugscope” lab experience. Teachers and students from all over the country are invited to conduct their own investigations, control and access a scanning electron microscope, and, ask questions.

“As a science educator who prepares future teachers to engage their students in inquiry-based science lessons, I am most interested in how new technologies can capture the imaginations of students,” said Korb.

National Lab Day is one of the initiatives under President Obama’s “Educate to Innovate” to support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in our schools by bringing hands-on, discovery-based lab experiences to students.
