The Daily Show with Jon Stewart won the award for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series at Sunday's Emmy Awards — and for us at Cal State East Bay that means congratulations to alumnus JR Havlan, a member of the show's crack writing staff.
This is the eighth consecutive win for the show itself. Havlan and the writers were nominated this year, too, but didn't win — but they took home Emmys in 2009, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, and 2001. Check the upcoming issue of Cal State East Bay Magazine for more about J.R. Havlan and a day in his life at The Daily Show.
