First place to Contemporary Jazz Ensemble, outstanding citations to students

The Contemporary Jazz Ensemble (MUS 3552) received 1st Place in the College Combo Division at the Delta Jazz Festival, at San Joaquin Delta College, Dec. 4, 2010.
Guitarist Chris Ansuini, saxophonists James Nelson and Devin Dominguez, drummer Joseph Niehuis (all undergraduate music majors), and pianist (and CSUEB undergraduate physics major) Keith Penney all received special citations for outstanding musicianship.
Johannes Wallmann, assistant professor of music, is director of jazz studies and jazz ensembles at Cal State East Bay.
