Lisa Booker, logistics coordinator in the Procurement and Support Services Department, was presented with the Vivian Cunniffe Award as Cal State East Bay’s outstanding employee for 2010 at the University’s Staff Recognition Holiday Celebration Dec. 17.

The award has been presented annually since 1986 in memory of Vivian Cunniffe, who was a very active participant in so many campus events.

University employees are encouraged to nominate colleagues “whose efforts go beyond that which is necessary to accomplish their particular job.”  All non-management staff personnel with a minimum of five years of service at CSUEB, including the CSUEB Foundation and Associated Students, Inc. staff, are eligible for the award. The specific criteria for consideration of Cunniffe Award nominees include professional attitude, willingness to assume responsibility, demonstrated commitment to campus life, and pride in a job well done.

Along with Booker, four other university staff members were nominated for the award. Nominees recognized were Marcia Brown of the Departments of Geography & Environmental Studies and Theatre and Dance; Jennifer Cabrejas and Anne Wing of the Department of Research & Sponsored Programs; and Bill Roan of the Department of Biological Sciences.

As the selected nominee, Booker receives free parking for one year, a crystal gift and her name inscribed on a perpetual plaque that will be displayed in the Student Services and Administration Building.
