Democrat Jerry Brown was sworn in today (Monday) as California's 39th governor but Cal State East Bay Political Science Professor Kim Geron told KTVU Channel 2 that Brown has already been busy behind the scenes. Watch video.

“We already know that he [Brown] has been meeting with a number of stakeholders - on both sides of the aisle, with interest groups - and has already been working behind the scenes and has done a couple public town halls basically talking about where he assesses the financial state to be,” said Geron.

It should be no surprise that Brown is expected to release his budget proposal for the coming fiscal year next week. KTVU reports that the governor is expected to deliver voters a series of stark choices. "It's a tough budget for tough times," [Brown] said.
