Nominations sought for 'Distinguished Alumnus,' 'Young Alum of Year' honors

The Cal State East Bay Alumni Association is requesting nominations for the 2010-11 Distinguished Alumnus and the Young Alum of the Year awards.

If you have been impressed with a Cal State East Bay alumnus who is making an impact in his or her community or has reached a point of distinction professionally, please contact Kate Shaheed, director of alumni relations, at kate.shaheed@csueastbay.edu. This is a wonderful way to bring attention to the nominee's work and demonstrate the talent cultivated at Cal State East Bay.

These awards are among the highest honors bestowed by the university and highlight the success of the alumni.

The 2010 recipients were Patrick Devine, who is the vice president of global compensation at Oracle and an influential member of his community, and Robert Litton, a notable young composer.

Please send your nominations to Shaheed, as well as any questions you might have, by 10 a.m. Monday, April 4, for your nominees to receive full consideration.
