Celebrate the life of Cesar Chavez March 31

Cal State East Bay will join the City of Hayward in celebrating Cesar Chavez Day with a “Teach-in”. Organized by Hayward City Councilman Mark Salinas, the event begins at 5pm on March 31 at the Hayward City Hall.

Several speakers are planned for the “teach-in”, including Carlos Salomon, CSUEB associate professor of ethnic studies and program director for Latin American studies, who will discuss Chavez’s life.  Anthony Chavez, grandson of Cesar Chavez, will lead a discussion on the relevancy of his grandfather’s legacy for young people.
