You like STUFF?

Want to know where STUFF comes from?

Where STUFF goes when it turns to trash?

And what it does along the way?

Join ASI on April 19 for a screening and discussion of, The Story of Stuff, a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled, humorous look at the underside of production and consumption. This short film explores the connections between a vast array of environmental and social issues, and points the way toward a more sustainable and just world.

In May 2009, the New York Times called The Story of Stuff "a sleeper hit in classrooms across the country. "We're honored that teachers from middle school through university are using our film to spark debate and engage students in critical thinking," said environmentalist activist and film creator Annie Leonard. She has traveled to 40 countries, visiting literally hundreds of locations where consumer stuff is made and also where it's dumped. With over 12 million on-line views, The Story of Stuff is one of the most widely viewed environmental-themed short films of all time. The event takes place on April 19 at 4:00pm in the New University Union. Contact ASI for more information at asipresents@csueastbay.edu.
