Double congratulations to Dawn Monique Williams, ’03 theatre and dance.

Concurrent with earning her MFA in directing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, she has been selected by the New York Drama League for one of four directors’ project fellowships.

“This is a prestigious honor,” says Williams.

The fellowship will include an intensive orientation in professional theater, a directing workshop with a master director/teacher and professional actors, one or two directing assignments, and, together with the other fellows, the staging of several one-act plays for an audience of artistic directors, producers, and other industry professionals.

Before the fellowship gets into full swing, Williams will direct another Shakespeare play, “The Winter’s Tale,” for Hampshire Shakespeare Company this summer.

At CSUEB Williams directed and lectured the Theatre and Dance Department, including, “Anna Bella Eema,” 2008, and “The Tempest,” 2010, for CSUEB entry in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
