Nina Haft, assistant professor of theatre and dance, and performers in her namesake company will present a dance travelogue of their 2010 trip in which they performed and taught at the Amman Contemporary Dance Festival, the Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival, Dheisheh Refugee Camp, and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.

“The beauty, perseverance, friendship and daily struggles we encountered changed us all. We'd like to share the journey with you,” said Haft.

“T:HERE” is set for 8 p.m. June 3 and 4 at the San Francisco International Arts Festival Southside Theater, Bldg. D, Fort Mason Center, San Francisco.

Haft will co-direct with Ziad Abbas. Performers will include alumni Frances Sedayaom, ’04, and Edmer Lazaro, ’02, both of whom double majored in dance, and kinesiology and physical education.

The performance will be interwoven with contemporary dance, Palestinian dabkeh, poetry, image and song. Also on the program will be the company Iraqi’s Bodies, from Iraq and the Netherlands, in their U.S. debut, performing “Crying of My Mother.”
