Grace Munakata, professor of art, will have pieces in two exhibitions this summer.

“It’s Never too Late to Have a Happy Childhood,” is the title of Munakata’s part of a two-person exhibit June 16-July 9 at the Braustein/Quay Gallery, 430 Clementina St., San Francisco. The reception will be from 3-5 p.m. June 18. The gallery may be reached at www.braunsteinquay.com

The group exhibition, “Crosscurrents,” will open with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 16 at the Togonon Gallery, 77 Geary St., second floor, San Francisco, 94108. The gallery is open 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

The exhibition showcases contemporary works of three artists from Asia, juxtaposed with works of four Asian-American artists, including that of Munakata. The show aims to explore how current global art aesthetics, socio-political events, rapid communication, and technological advances have influenced art making for these seven, featured artists.
