Anna Salazar '11 (Art) is passionate about design. She even started her namesake company - Anna Salazar Designs - almost a year before her graduation from Cal State East Bay.

“I specialize in print, layout, packaging, branding, and web design,” said Salazar. “My dream as a designer is to create art that has a positive impact in society …”

She just finished a labor intensive project creating a campus map for ASI, Inc. “The main objective was to emphasize and locate ASI offices and areas where ASI-related events take place,” she explained.  Photos of the map’s creation are posted on her personal blog.

In addition to the campus map, she also designed the CLASS arts calendar for the 2010-2011 season and redesigned a Web site for food personality Sonia Hunt.  These designs as well as many others are on her company Web site.

“I believe that art is a huge influence of a person's life and can be used as a powerful medium to bring people of all cultures together,” said Salazar. She should understand diverse culture since Salazar was born in Los Angeles to a Chilean and Filipino family. “At the age of one, my family moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where I was raised,” she said. At the age of sixteen, she returned to the United States to attend high school and college.

Good luck, Anna! You’re off to a great start.
