A short story from the current Cal State East Bay “Arroyo Literary Review” has been selected to be included in a new anthology of California writing to be published by Heyday Press in 2012.

“Off-Limits (In Which the Bitchy Virgin No One Can Get with Visits a Gay Bar)” by Briandaniel Oglesby was published in the spring 2011 “Arroyo Literary Review.” It is available in the CSUEB English Department, MB 2579, at the University Library, or in the University Bookstore.

Jennifer Bennett, "Arroyo" editor, said, “Awesome that this piece was discovered through us and I'm super excited for him!”

“Arroyo Literary Review” is a print-based publication produced annually by students and alumni of CSUEB. Each issue reflects the creative diversity found in the San Francisco Bay Area literary scene, while bringing together material from an international array of poets, writers, and artists.

Oglesby grew up in Davis, California, and earned a BA at the University of California, Irvine, and an MFA in creative writing and writing for the performing arts from the University of California, Riverside. He writes both fiction and plays. His playwriting has twice been staged as readings at the Kennedy Center as part of the American College Theatre Festival. His work has also been produced at a number of venues in the Inland Empire, Davis, and Santa Barbara.
