  • May 25, 2012 5:00am

It happens to everyone. Books have been written about it, songs have been sung about it: one day we wake up and realize that our lives need to change. For those who want to learn medicine, Cal State East Bay offers a Pre-Professional Health Academic Program, which gives students the educational background needed to apply to and succeed in medical schools. Our prehealth postbac program is specifically structured for such students, and is goal-oriented, focused, and integrated with health professions volunteerships/internships, research experience, community service and prehealth association opportunities.

Our program is cohort based, very competitive, and combines high quality academic instruction with entrance test preparation opportunities, growth and development of important personal characteristics and includes mentoring, tutoring and general advising.

Students from any number of backgrounds are encouraged to attend: those who lack meangingful personal interactions in their current fields; students with non-science backgrounds who wish to enter the healthcare field; students with science backgrounds but uncompetitive GPAs are all encouraged to learn more about our program.
