Pioneer women's basketball team will host University of Alaska-Fairbanks on November 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the CSUEB gym.

The Pioneers opened the season by defeating Dominican University, 58-36, and losing to Academy of Art University, 59-56. East Bay averaged 56.5 rebounds and held Dominican and Academy of Art to 95 points, an average of 47.5 points per game.

“We rebounded the ball well and played solid defense,” Pioneer coach Suzy Barcomb said. “With people playing out of position due to injuries and illnesses, we had too many turnovers. Right now, we are out-of sync offensively and until we learn how to play together, we must rely on our defense to keep us in games.”
