Cal State East Bay Criminal Justice Administration Department faculty member Keith Inman was called on as a forensic expert in a high profile Arizona criminal trial.

The defense in the Steven DeMocker murder trial called Inman to analyze the crime scene. Inman offered a different interpretation of the evidence than what the jury had been seeing for several weeks. DeMocker is accused of killing his ex-wife, Carol Kennedy, in July 2008, by bludgeoning her to death with a golf club in her upscale Williamson Valley home.

Inman's experience in this trial will no doubt be incorporated into future learning opportunities for CSUEB students.

An expert in crime scene reconstruction and examination, Inman used his 30 years experience working as a forensic scientist to introduce CSUEB students to  tools of the trade as part of the CSUEB Forensics Club that he started in 2010. “The Forensic Science Club complements our existing curriculum by offering students access and exposure to what they would see in an actual crime lab,” Inman said. “My goal is to train the next generation of forensic leaders and to have our students fully prepared to compete for jobs in crime labs.”
