CSUEB alumnus named National Book Award finalist for the second time

CSUEB alumnus and graphic novelist Gene Luen Yang has once again been listed as a finalist for the National Book Award. Yang, who graduated from CSUEB’s online master’s in education program in 2003, made the list for Young People’s Literature for his new two-volume graphic novel, “Boxers & Saints.” Yang also was a finalist in 2006 for his work “American Born Chinese.”

The National Book Awards announced their short list of finalists on Oct. 16, and an awards ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 20.
