Cal State East Bay alumna Emerald Templeton, BA, human development (’06), is assisting the community with her blog “transition2life.” She shares advice on how to be successful in obtaining employment as well as advice about what employers are looking for in potential employees. Articles vary from the way in which employers view “job hopping,” or moving from job to job in short periods of time, to “Five Signs That You Have (or You Are) a Poor Boss.” Templeton also posts job listings in the nonprofit newsletter Opportunity Knocks.

Templeton is a counseling educator with expertise in college student personnel and career services. After several years of working with youth in community-based programs advocating for personal enrichment and educational advancement, she pursued a career in higher education. She works as a counselor in a college career center where she is working with underrepresented groups to connect passions with tangible careers.
