CSUEB’s Project Management Certificate Prepares Graduates for Top-Paying Jobs

  • January 23, 2015 3:18pm

Cal State East Bay’s Certificate in Project Management, which can be completed in as little as 10 weeks, prepares graduates for an exciting and lucrative career in project management.

The program provides students with a Project Management Institute (PMI®)-approved way to complete the educational hours necessary to qualify for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam and earn the PMP® credential — a globally recognized credential that demonstrates the experience, education, and competency to lead and direct projects.

According to a recent survey by ProjectManager.com, PMP certified individuals make up to 16 percent more than their non-certified counterparts, which amounts to a difference in pay of approximately $14,500 each year.

Furthermore, CSUEB graduates looking to earn above-average wages are already in a prime location. According to ProjectManager.com, the median salary for project managers in San Francisco is $99,748 — one of the highest in the nation.

Successful CSUEB graduates have earned positions in industries as diverse as manufacturing, business services, finance and insurance, oil and gas, information services, construction, and utilities.

“CSUEB's project management course showed me how to better plan for my projects as well as how to meet deadlines. I’ve gained the knowledge and practical skills needed to take on any project and complete it successfully,” said Aquilla Scott, who graduated from CSUEB’s Project Management program in 2012.

There are no formal requirements to enter the program, and all interested students who can satisfactorily complete the program coursework are invited to enroll. For more information, visit CSUEB’s Certificate in Project Management website.
