AACE will host “10 Steps to the Perfect LinkedIn Profile” Wednesday, May 8, at 2 p.m. in SA 2200A.
Terry Peppin, CSUEB academic and career counselor, will talk about the importance of online networking. Kimberly Legocki, the university's social media director, will provide a step-by-step tutorial for how to set up a LinkedIn profile that gets noticed. While designed for graduating students, all members of the CSUEB community are invited.
“Students should know that just like Facebook is a great tool for keeping up on friends’ personal lives, and sharing info about yourself, LinkedIn is the current, widely accepted professional version—to share professional identity, accomplishments, goals, and seek connections to help and to learn from the network of incredible people around us, many who graduated from East Bay," said Peppin.
“College students are active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, but not LinkedIn,” said Legocki. “I’m always surprised by how few are using social media to prepare for a future career. Hopefully, this workshop will help them to realize the importance of using LinkedIn for establishing an online brand that sets them up for long-term career success.”
