Free AC Transit Replaces CSUEB's Hillhopper Service to BART Station

  • December 31, 2008

Effective January 5, all students, faculty and staff can ride the AC Transit bus (Line #92) to and from the Hayward BART station for free by showing their Cal State East Bay student or faculty-staff photo I.D. card. The free service provided by AC Transit on its Line 92 buses will replace Cal State East Bay's Hillhopper bus that previously ran between the University's Hayward campus and the Hayward BART station.

AC Transit will provide larger buses on the Line 92 bus route to increase seating capacity for the CSUEB campus community. Replacing the Hillhopper with the AC Transit bus will increase the hours and days of operation and provide a more consistent service for Cal State East Bay students, faculty, and staff, according to Chris Brown, CSUEB associate vice president for Enterprise Operations and Foundation.

The free AC Transit service is only for rides anywhere on the Line 92 bus route. No transfers for other AC Transit lines will be provided.
