Environmental fair at Concord campus April 5

Mark DeSaulnierThe Concord Campus of California State University, East Bay will be the site of an environmental fair-hosted by Contra Costa County state Assemblymember Mark DeSaulnier from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5.

The fair will feature sessions on recycling, water conservation, and energy conservation. Representatives of numerous environmental organizations will be on hand to provide tips on what individuals can do to protect the environment.

"Reducing the effects of global warming and climate change may be the most important issue of this generation," DeSaulnier said. "Whether you are at home, buying food, on the road or at work, the energy you use in your daily life has an impact on climate change."

Mike Mahoney, vice president for Academic Affairs and provost for Cal State East Bay, will be on hand to welcome visitors to the Concord Campus, which is located at 4700 Ygnacio Valley Road.

Admission to the fair and parking on the campus are free.
