to become one of the biggest producers of school teachers in the state, passed away on June 28, at the age of 93.
Daniel T. Cerutti, assistant professor of psychology since 2007 at California State University, East Bay, passed away Jan. 10.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 7 for Leroy Chauffe, a faculty member of the Cal State East Bay
Chemistry Department from 1968 through 2001.

July 31 in San Mateo. He was 71. Private funeral services have been held.
Emeritus biology professor Howard Cogswell, who was instrumental in preserving the Hayward Shoreline, died on
June 8 at the age of 91.

Jean passed away peacefully on September 24, 2011, in Hayward, from end stage Alzheimer's disease. A native of Berkeley California, she was born Sept. 28 1921, attended Berkeley High and graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in 1943.
A scholarship fund in the name of Alvin “Abe” Howe, the late teacher education professor emeritus, has been established at California State University, East Bay, where he taught for 32 years.

Ellis McCune, who served as Cal State East Bay president for 23 years leading the university through times of turmoil and expansion, died Tuesday from complications of pneumonia. He was 84.

John A. Montgomery, Professor Emeritus of Recreation and Community Education, was one of the early professors in the Department of Recreation and was hired by the founder of the department, Dr. William Neipoth.
Dr. John Edwin Morby, 71, Professor Emeritus of History, died of natural causes at his home in Hayward on September 3, 2010.
He began his service at the University in 1969, retired in 1998 and participated in the Faculty Early Retirement Program until 2003.

Funeral services will be held in Hayward Friday, July 28 for emeritus math professor Ranjit Sabharwal, who passed away Sunday. He was 81.
Eric Soares, who was a faculty member in the College of Business and Economics from 1983 until his retirement in September 2008, passed away at Stanford Medical Center February 1, 2012.
Staniforth, who passed away this past year, held a Ph.D. from UCLA and was a professor of English at CSUEB from 1966-1998, specializing in Shakespeare, 16th and 17th century literature, and bibliography.

Detlef "Dietz" Warnke, a professor of geology at Cal State East Bay for the past 35 years, died of cancer Friday, Oct. 24. He had continued doing research through the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP) since 2006. He was 80.

Harry Waters, Jr., Professor Emeritus of the Department of Management, passed away May 26, 2013. He began his career at CSU, Hayward (East Bay) in 1986 and retired December 31, 2012.
Robert Whitney, Professor Emeritus of Physics, died in Alameda on August 12, 2010 at the age of 91.
