Institutional data is collected and analyzed by the Office of Planning & Institutional Research (PIR) which is responsible for maintaining the university databases including but not limited to enrollment (headcount), full-time equivalent students (FTES), retention rates, graduation rates, and faculty, staff, and student demographic data. PIR is also responsible for enrollment projects for the university, mandatory reporting to the Chancellor's Office, and research and analysis of special studies as needed.
- Office of Faculty Development and Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching
The Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching at Cal State East Bay supports faculty in their roles as teachers, scholars, and members of the university and community. Opportunities and space are provided for faculty to collaborate on projects that improve teaching and student learning. Collegiality among faculty are enhanced as intellectual, pedagogical, and scholarly horizons are expanded. Services are available to full and part-time CSU East Bay faculty at all stages of their academic careers.

As fiscal administrator, the CSUEB Foundation manages externally funded research and training grants and contracts received by the University. Nearly six million dollars in grant funds are administered each year which are primarily awarded by federal government agencies. External funding also comes from state and local agencies as well as private corporations and foundations. The Foundation receives "indirect costs" for its administration of sponsored program activities. The post award services provided by the Foundation include accounting services, personnel and payroll administration, accounts payable services, general and specialized insurance coverage, compliance and regulatory monitoring, independent audit and legal services.
