Activate Your NetID and Set Up Horizon E-mail

Admitted students should activate your NetID to access the University computer network, and set up your Horizon e-mail to establish official communications with the University.

Activate Your NetID

At Cal State East Bay, your personal University identification number is called a NetID. You will use your NetID to access online services including MyCSUEB and your Cal State East Bay Horizon e-mail.

After submitting an application for admission, you will receive your NetID and activation code by mail with instructions for setting your personal password. Please keep your NetID and password in a safe place. To activate your NetID, login to the NetID page online.

New students who do not receive their NetID and activation code within 10 - 15 business days after submitting an application for admission may contact the Office of Admission at (510) 885-2784 to request the letter to be reissued.

If you have lost your NetID activation code, or not received your letter of admission, you may obtain assistance by completing the Activation Code Request Form and faxing it to the number provided on the form.

Set Up Horizon E-mail

After you have activated your NetID, you can set up your Horizon E-mail account. All students receive a Horizon student e-mail account. This e-mail account is where important University communication will be sent about your academic status, classes, fees, financial aid, and more. In addition, this is the e-mail address professors will use to communicate with you. It is your responsibility to check your Horizon e-mail regularly for official University notices and updates.

You can log in to your Horizon e-mail account with your NetID and password. Access and learn to use your Horizon student e-mail at http://horizon.csueastbay.edu/.
