Athletic Excellence
Since 1961, the Cal State East Bay Pioneers have won 82 Conference Championships, producing more than 200 All-Americans and Academic All-Americans. Plus, the Pioneers have taken home seven national collegiate championships.

Cal State East Bay has a 2008-2009 application to move to NCAA Division II with athletic scholarships and anticipates a move into the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
In 2007-2008, 10 of 15 Cal State East Bay sports qualified for post-season competition, including women's volleyball for the tenth straight year in Division III, and men's golf, finishing seventh in the country in the NAIA. Women's water polo won the Division III Collegiate Nationals with a team that had five All-Americans and five Academic All-Americans.

Athletic Facilities
The Physical Education Complex houses a 3,500 seat gymnasium, two swimming pools, training rooms and a spacious weight room. Outdoor facilities include University Stadium for soccer, softball and baseball fields, tennis courts, and a field house.
